For its Be@SAFRA Virtual Open House on 19 December 2020, SAFRA Club at Toa Payoh produced a video to explain to young children the importance of the 6 pillars of Total Defence.

The video was done with several children from NurtureStars @ SAFRA Toa Payoh as the audience listening to LTC (RET) Swee Boon Chai (Uncle Swee), from the Singapore Armed Forces Veterans League, sharing the story of his exciting 31-years career in the army as a parachute jumper.

During the session, Uncle Swee took pains to explain clearly what the 6 pillars of Total Defence meant for our country, and why every Singaporean must be involved besides the military, police and civil defence forces.

The 15-minute video session was featured in the Virtual Open House on SAFRA Toa Payoh’s Facebook Live!, which was opened to all the club’s members and their families.

NurtureStars is jointly managed by Kinderland Educare Services and SAFRA. Its children often participate in activities organised by the clubs, including the annual Armed Forces Day and “We thank NS Men” programmes.

Every Singaporean is expected to be involved in our Total Defence, besides the Army, Airforce, Navy, Police and Civil Defence forces.
