Every year for Mother’s Day, children at all the NurtureStars Preschool centres do something in their own little ways to express their love and make them feel special.  To help the children mark the special day, teachers at the centres guide them to make paper roses and decorated greetings cards to bring home for their mommies, among other activities such as song and dance presentations.

Each of the six centres had their programmes for the children a couple of days before 8 May 2022.  At NurtureStars Tampines, parents were invited to join the centre activities and were treated to a talk on parenting styles. The mothers also spent quality time with their loved ones playing a game by taking turns to guess what they drew of each other.

At Toa Payoh, the mothers were invited to a zoom session to be surprised by their children giving an impromptu song and dance expressing their love for them. The children also presented to their moms virtually, messages on hand-made Heart-shaped cutouts.

A video clip featuring the children at NurtureStars Jurong West was specially produced by the teachers to share as a dedication to the mothers. The children also made bouquets of roses and heart-shaped cards by using recycle paper and material to be brought home for their mommies.

Classes at the Yishun centre individually had their own Zoom sessions for the children to bond with their mothers.  The littles ones performed dances, practised Yoga and had a photo puzzle game with their parents.

Children at the Punggol centre got their hands all red to make prints on a big heart-shaped cutout posters, while those at Mount Faber learned new songs to sing for their mommies and made “gifts” from recycled materials.
