NurtureStars Children Celebrate SAF Day Through Creativity and Community Spirit at SAFRA Choa Chu Kang

Children from NurtureStars @ SAFRA Choa Chu Kang joined families and residents from the Keat Hong and Chua Chu Kang communities on 5 July to celebrate SAF Day: Mission Ready at SAFRA Choa Chu Kang.

The event was held to celebrate SAF Day, which commemorates the founding of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and recognises the contributions of those who serve our nation.

As part of the celebration, our children contributed to a Defence Wall Mural. It reflected their shared commitment to Total Defence and gave them an opportunity to express their creativity while being part of a community initiative.

The event was graced by Mr Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs, who unveiled the Defence Wall Mural and interacted with our children.

Through their involvement in the mural, the children experienced the joy of working on a meaningful collaboration with the wider community, while learning about teamwork, resilience and community spirit.

At NurtureStars, we believe that meaningful learning extends beyond the classroom. Authentic experiences such as these complement our curriculum by helping children develop confidence, respect, gratitude and a sense of belonging, while encouraging them to appreciate the people and communities around them.

We are proud that our children could play a part in celebrating SAF Day. We extend our appreciation to SAFRA, the Keat Hong and Chua Chu Kang communities and the families and partners who made the Defence Wall Mural possible.
