One of the first major activities that children at NurtureStars enjoyed doing after returning to school from 19 June was the 15-day Back-to-School ABC Challenge.
In the first two weeks of the post-Circuit Breaker reopening, the children at all the centres in the six SAFRA clubs in Jurong, Mount Faber, Toa Payoh, Punggol, Tampines and Yishun took part in the Challenge. They carried out various activities to instil COVID-Safe ABCs of Access, Behaviours and Classrooms into their daily routines.
Activities included drawing their own mask designs and writing about their usefulness, practising washing their hands, going through the screening procedures when they arrived at the centres, sitting at a safe distance of at least one metre from each, and refraining from talking while in class.
It was a fun way for the children to learn to observe, adhere to and make all the COVID-SAFE precautionary measures a norm in school. Every child each received certificate of completion at the end of the exercise, which aimed at building a culture of COVID-Safe habits among the children.
