Children at all the six NurtureStars preschool centres located in SAFRA clubs have helped to raise a total of $77,888 for the Ju Eng Home for Senior Citizens since 2013.

The funds were raised mainly from the centres’ annual Little Entrepreneur Project (LEP) over the last six years till last year. In 2019 alone, some $14,000 was collected over three months between July and September.

During the LEP carnival projects children, with the help of their parents, set up booths at the centres to sell food and art and craft. There were also programmes that included parent-child bonding games and workshops.

The activities not only helped to raise funds for a good cause, they also gave the children the opportunity to experience how “business” is conducted and learn how to transact and count money.

Ju Eng Home for Senior Citizens provides shelter and care for seniors and the frail aged of Singapore, destitute or otherwise, irrespective of race and religion, to cater to their physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
